Buñuelos: The Must-Try Christmas Treat.
Ingredients:
Buñuelos:
- 10 La Banderita® Flour Tortillas
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons cinnamon
Piloncillo Honey:
- 2 Piloncillo cones
- 6 Cloves
- 1 Cinnamon stick
- 1 Cup water
Preparation:
Buñuelos Preparation: Make small cuts in the tortillas so they puff up when fried. Fry the tortillas one by one on both sides until golden brown. Mix the sugar with the cinnamon and while the buñuelos are still hot, sprinkle them on both sides.
Piloncillo Honey Preparation: In a cup of water, add the piloncillo, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil and wait for the piloncillo to dissolve. Let simmer over medium heat until thickened. While still hot, pour over the buñuelos!
