Luscious Lemon Carlota: A Zesty Twist on a Classic Dessert Delight!
Ingredients:
- 5 green lemons
- 1 lemon (for garnish)
- 1 can condensed milk
- 1 can evaporated milk
- 3 packages of Marías Cookies
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
Preparation:
- Squeeze 5 lemons and reserve the juice.
- In a bowl, add the evaporated milk and condensed milk.
- Beat with an electric mixer and gradually add the lemon juice. Blend until doubled in size and slightly thickened.
- Mix the whole milk with a teaspoon of vanilla. Reserve
- In a square baking dish, place a little of the milk mixture with the lemon juice.
- You will build up layers of cookies and milk mixture.
- Soak the cookies in the milk and vanilla mixture. One by one before placing them in the baking dish (this will give them more flavor).
- Cover the baking dish with plastic wrap.
- Refrigerate for approx. 3 hours
- Garnish with lemon zest and crushed cookies.
